In Retrospect...

Have you ever have one of those moments when you realize that maybe you should have made a different choice in life? More specifically, have you ever wished that you had made the choice to follow through on something when that thought first occurred to you? Okay, I know I'm not making any sense. Here's what I'm referring to: This morning, I followed my normal routine until I got to my laptop. I noticed that there was an "x" right next to my speaker icon. I clicked on it and got this message, "No audio output device is installed". WTH! I certainly had one yesterday. To make a long story short, I googled and sifted through several different solutions. Eventually I found one that not only made sense but actually matched my problem. A couple of minutes later, there was sound again. The whole time, I was thinking to myself that maybe if I took computer classes in college instead of business, I might have actually finished. Instead, I chose to suppress my inner geek in order to pursue things like fashion merchandising and accounting. Go figure. If I could go today, it would be for web design (with some creative writing classes thrown in). If you could go again (or for the first time), what major would you choose? Or would you choose to not go at all?

My Laptop

I need a new laptop. More accurately, I need another laptop. I walked into the living room this morning to find that someone had left the plug in to charge the battery. The problem: the person who was charging the battery had left for the day and wouldn't be back until this evening. When I came along, the laptop was fully charged. I don't know how long it had been this way but I know it's not good. The same thing happened a couple of weeks ago. I came downstairs on Saturday to find that the battery had been charging all night. Right now, I'm totally frustrated. Everyone in the house should have computer and Internet access. Unfortunately, I'm the only one who bothers to take care of it (on a regular basis). As I see it, I have a few choices. I could be really anal about folks using this laptop, buy the family a new computer, or buy myself a new laptop and let them continue to abuse this one. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. Which one would you choose?
